Abstract

The lithic technology is a component of a greater system, related to other society’s aspects (economic, ideological, social, environmental). From this assumption, in the present project we formulate some problems and hypothesis

about lithic technology strategies of agricultural and/or pastoral societes that lived in two places of Atacama Puna along Later and Later-Inka moments: Antofagasta de la Sierra (Southern Argentina Puna, Catamarca Province) and Doncellas River (Northern Argentina Puna, Jujuy Province).

Fundamentally, we wish to contribute to the understanding of the importance to integrate the analysis of the lithic evidence within the study of the societies of the Regional Developments Period and the immediately later, as one more line of evidence that can offer information about different aspects of the groups that generated it.
